have half a thought that GL (or vk or whatever) should be able to implement the generic 'framebuffer" api in addition to doing 3d stuff, so thinking possibly the existing 2d code maybe should be factored out a bit as well

My idea until now was that if you pass GL/VK/etc mode the BUFFER function just throws an error

cause otherwise the user might expect it to be a buffer that mirror's the back buffer from gl and then we'd have to also read-pixels and whatever, and ech

i'd probably lean more towards specifying it explicitly as "2d stuff goes into a texture, and you can do whatever you want with that texture" or "2d stuff is a potentially transparent overlay on 3d stuff"

and problem with struct offsets in my ffi gen is that when i look up names of nested structures, i don't actually account for nesting depth > 1 or so, and it is just grabbing the size of some other random deeply nested struct :/

shmget works, but shmat fails with einval. dunno why, since the address is definitely aligned
