Shinmera: finally read your draft ELS paper. really good stuff! your experiences match a lot of my own over in scheme land, like the basic tricks for reducing GC overhead, inlining to get more optimized linear algebra code, etc. hope the paper is accepted!

I already got some requests for changes from the programme chair, so I'll be revising it before submission.

My biggest issue is the related works, which I don't really know what to do with to be honest.

anyway, I don't really know what to cite. This is the only game in Lisp being published, let alone being written papers about. And I don't really see how other languages, if there's papers for those, wolud matter to my work at all.

Shinmera: was just about to ask about that. you mention SBCL advances several times.

I am considering submitting something, but it would probably get rejected. not sure I have time to complete the paper, anyway.

Shinmera: I've never submitted to an academic conference before and I don't know what the "competition" might look like.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it. My first paper was an ELS one, long before I wrote a thesis.

you can look at ELS proceedings from previous years to get an idea of what submissions look like.

I don't know if my topic is "novel" enough, but I have a (nearly) working Scheme-like language that compiles to GLSL using the "compilation by program transformation" technique and has type inference.
