<Hugo> I read that emacs has an in-built profiler that can be used to determine what is taking time. Probably nothing you aren't aware of already.

<shinmera> also would be nice if y'all IRC Libera stragglers gave the Lichat client a shot and reported stuff ;)

the amount of beef has nothing to do with how well emacs will run or running into absurd issues like the compositor shitting the bed :^)

<|3b|> direct IRC still working fine, aside from not reconnecting all the channels i'm in, but i blame erc (and/or my config) for that :p

<|3b|> i need to figure out why completion is so slow on the emacs i use for irc, but also too lazy :p

<shinmera> euch, ritalin does help with the focus (now that I seemingly can't focus anymore on my own) but it also does make me feel super on edge

personal anecdote: Taking my Methylphenidate (extended release) I find I have to avoid all forms of caffeine to avoid things like over-stimulation and hard crashes. I can't recall if I felt similar on Ritalin

<shinmera> I only tried ritalin a couple times in February when I first got it, found it didn't help me with the actual usual core issue (focusing on the right things, rather than whatever my brain's whimsy happens to be) and then forgot about it until some days ago when I could not focus on anything and remembered I had it

I don't notice how much my meds help until I stop taking them. The felt difference is subtle yet massive in actual behavioral change.
