4:43:26Bikedrmeister: does build still use LTO? i haven't been able to build clasp on my home system without my computer locking up, and there's a new bug report complaining about the same thing
15:44:00drmeisterWow - does it use a lot of memory?
15:44:27drmeisterIf you limit the number of cores used for the build - does it work then. ./waf build_cboehmprecise -j1
15:44:57drmeisterWe can completely crash zeus if we build llvm (not clasp) with more than -j6
15:45:24drmeisterIt uses too much memory when it links and that brings the entire machine down.
15:47:46Bikei think it does use a lot of memory. i forget if i tried turning parallel build off
15:48:04Bikebut yeah the linking is what i was wondering about, thus lto
15:53:12drmeisterWe don't use lto at this time. We use the faso/fasp files for everything. This means we generate object files and concatenate them together and load and link that at startup time. We don't link Common Lisp code with C++ code at this point.
