That error message isn't much to go on. It tells us that the lisp crashed. Are you trying to use the Mac IDE? If not, what OS, and where did you get the distribution?

man_max: are you checked the version of the binary vs. your system? Have you tried to recompile it?
19:01:46
pjb
So I assume you downloaded https://github.com/Clozure/ccl/releases/download/v1.12.1/ccl-1.12.1-linuxx86.tar.gz https://github.com/Clozure/ccl/releases/download/v1.12.1/linuxx86.tar.gz
19:04:46
pjb
And this drivers crashes with expection 11 right away?
19:05:40
pjb
This will require debugging. I don't use ubuntu right now, I have no idea why it does this. Perhaps a missing shared library, or wrong shared library version?

You may also ask for help on the mail list (https://lists.clozure.com/mailman/listinfo/openmcl-devel) or submit an issue on the GitHub repository (https://github.com/Clozure/ccl/issues).
22:45:43
pjb
Not at the moment, since I don't currently run any ubuntu host. I mentionned the mail list and github issues previously.
22:46:14
man_max
I installed 3 different linux
22:46:44
man_max
but, same issue in all ...
22:47:09
pjb
You have a ./lx86cl64.image in ~/ccl right?
22:51:12
pjb
It's funny it doesn't work with 3 different linux. What processor do you have?
22:52:35
man_max
AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.10 GHz
22:53:22
pjb
Perhaps that's the problem. Could you try to run ccl in a "Intel" virtual machine (eg. virtual box)?
22:53:49
man_max
i am using virtual machine
22:53:56
pjb
The difficulty is that you need a working ccl to make a patch and compile new binaries.
22:54:26
pjb
Yes, but if your virtual machines simulates AMD instead of Intel, processor differences may explain the crash.

I don't think wsl works to run ccl.
22:54:35
man_max
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install
22:54:47
pjb
There's a ccl that works on MS-Windows.
22:55:19
man_max
i want to have it on linux...
22:55:34
pjb
And writing patches and compiling a ccl that would work on wsl would also first need a working ccl.
22:56:05
pjb
man_max: using virtual box, you could boot a pure linux system instead of wsl and ccl does work in a virtual box \ linux system.
22:56:15
pjb
That could be a temporary solution for you.

I just tried the archive mentioned above on a VMware virtual machine running Linux on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and it worked.

You could try getting https://www.vmware.com/products/workstation-player.html (which is free) and attempt to run ccl in that.
