hey folks! loving stumpwm. i have my prefix key set to M-., but my right alt is modmapped to Super-L, what's the right syntax for SL-. ?

Like many who'd gone before me, when new to stumpwm, I, too, mapped s- to replace Ctrl-t.

Thus freeing up s- for other, more useful things, for me at least, e.g. s-left/right arrow to easily switch to "next" and "back" groups, s-f to launch firefox, s-i to launch firefox in "incongnito mode", to borrow from chrome/ium, s-t for Ctrl-t-o, etc.

I use Ctrl-t for tmux, so I had to switch somewhere. I don't use Super in emacs, so I use Super-`

gotwf: i don't ever toggle windows, i navigate with full knowledge of what's there. none of this maintaining a stack crap

I use a 1d layout. Each window uses the full screen and "workspaces" are laid out in a line. Every app I use all the time has a predictable numbering, everything else just gets appended to the end of the line.

much of personal preferences boil down to.. personal preferences... for e.g. I prefer 30"+ displays => enough screen real estate such that I can carve it up, stack it up, or whatever else floats my boat to attend to the task at hand. And therein lies yet another fly in the ointment of one size fits all mentalities... different tasks and workflows.

booring ... for me, at least. I was early adopter of Awesome a long, long time ago, in a far away galaxy...... I've long since evolved... lol.

If you dig Awesome, just fsck'ing USE Awesome. Or customize StumpWM to tastes. Just don't try (e.g. a certain company based in Virginia that shall not be named) to foist those tastes on everyone else. A sad, but all to increasingly familiar, trend in Penguinista Space ;-P

My latest workflow "achievement" is adding hotkeys to stumwm that allow me to use my various emacs org-capture commands from anywhere :-)
