22:53:33tychoishit appears that I've had this in my config for years and it doesn't happen very much
22:53:46Demosthenexwell... that's why it died. the value "tea" was in *colors* and when it tried to look up the value for that color name it wasn't found, so it threw an error
23:14:24Demosthenexso if i want start things in specific frames, i can use run-shell-command to launch the program, but then i'd need to hook *new-window-hook* to wait until it launches a window before moving to the next command to start.
23:28:24Demosthenexi don't want to "tag" windows, i don't want to have 10 carefully organized screens
23:28:25tychoishI don't name frames I was just confused about how you'd know where to put the window?
23:28:57Demosthenexi have a startup script which creates all the frames, it'd be fine to run the command and wait for a screen to return before continuing
