so i'm reading on urxvt's site, native transparency is enabled with a compositing WM. i assume stump can't do that yet?
12:10:58
tychoish
I basically just want to be able to use dmenu rather than stump's menu for calling stump commands
12:11:23
tychoish
because I use dmnu for everything else
12:11:50
Demosthenex
tychoish: xcompmgr works with stump? i'll go read
12:12:14
tychoish
I mean I just start it within stump, and it does the composting when I need/want it
12:12:24
tychoish
I have no clue how it works, but it's never caused me a problem in a decade :D
12:18:34
Demosthenex
so i couldn't use that on my old systme, i think it had to do with the graphics adapter
12:18:37
Demosthenex
maybe i can on my new
12:18:52
Demosthenex
i just upgraded from an x201 to an x230 (new(er))
12:19:50
Demosthenex
well, xorg says i have composite. maybe i can finally get real transparent urxvt's
12:20:52
Demosthenex
tychoish: omg, kmfdm fan?
12:21:35
tychoish
I've alwayse used fake transparency on urxvt
12:22:02
Demosthenex
me too. even to the extreme of making a background that perfectly fits my screen, and then making a faded/blurred copy for urxvt to overlay
12:23:45
Demosthenex
i used to run enlightenment, and imitate tiling before there were tiling wms
12:23:50
Demosthenex
and i liked some of the eye candy
12:26:28
Demosthenex
omg, it just worked. no config.
13:31:32
Demosthenex
so now i have urxvt doing *real* transparency AND emacs (WOW!) in stump.
13:42:50
tychoish
I just have emacs with real transparency
13:42:55
tychoish
how do you urxvt transparency?
13:45:02
Demosthenex
32 bit color depth, and specify an alpha channel
14:04:43
tychoish
can you pastebin that somewhere :p
14:09:56

tychoish: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Rxvt-unicode/Tips_and_tricks#True_transparency
14:18:04
tychoish
is there a thing to change the default frame transparency
14:18:09
tychoish
without editing the config file?
