for synthdefs, that's another beast, you have to write those to a file and then send an OSC message to scsynth to load the synthdef from that file

unfortunately synthdefs are compiled to a binary format, which is not quite as easy, but it's documented here: http://doc.sccode.org/Reference/Synth-Definition-File-Format.html

PuercoPope: OSC is the most direct way of communicating with scsynth. but if you want to use scsynth from lisp, cl-collider is the library that you'd probably want to use. https://github.com/byulparan/cl-collider . i contribute to it regularly and am pretty familiar with it, let me know if i can assist in any way

defaultxr: thanks the links where just what I was looking for. I was aware of the fact that sclang just sent osc messages but coulnt find the documentation of what those messages where.
