I now have a different error. When I horizontally split some windows (specificlly, Firefox and Xterm windows) I get a crash because it'

It's trying to set one of the fields in _NET_FRAME_EXTENTS to a negative value

The computation of the extents looks weird, but I'm trying ot find the specification for this property, which I can't seem to find

I though it'd be documented in the ICCCM, butit's not there

I think I figured it out

the computation for _NET_FRAME_EXTENTS is wrong

I have no idea what it's actually trying to do. As best as I can see, it should simply use the extents of the surrounding frame.

I made the change and all works correctly.

Never mind I figure it out

And my solution was icorrect.

I have to research a bit more, but it's clear that someting goes wrong in the computation of the extents

I have a theory what's going on.

What I can see is that the parent frame is 718 pixels high, but the frame itself is 719. In other words, the parent is smaller than the child.

I'm guessing this happens because the child frame has been adjusted somehow. I don't know where though.
