1:40:30alandipertstarted reading the cleavir docs, really great. added a bunch of context i was missing about compilation in general
1:41:07alandipertsurfing the repo was intrigued by the directory "Kildall" and looked into that too. fascinating, was not expecting CP/M crossovers :-)
5:31:07beachalandipert: Glad you like it. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate.
6:26:21alandipertbeach not strictly a cleavir question, but.. i'm contemplating how to implement backquote and i'm aware of these approaches: reader macro, macro, special form, and combinations thereof. i think ECL was the one i saw that had special forms, and iirc sbcl does it all at read time... and there's of course the macro in CLTL2
6:26:41alandipertanyway i'm curious to hear any opinion on the relative merits/tradeoffs of these different ways
6:30:36alandipertall things considered i lean toward the qualities of expedience/simplicity in my own impl... and reader macros that expand to special forms is currently the most attractive
6:34:29beachI hadn't thought much about it. In SICL, the reader macro creates a macro form.
