6:08:43beachFor the past few days, I have been busy reading Jim Newton's thesis, but I am also doing SICL bootstrapping as much as I can. Yesterday (or was it the day before) I got a mysterious error message when trying to initialize a bridge generic function using the host shared initialize, and I haven't quite figured it out yet.
6:08:45beachBasically, the SICL function METHOD-FUNCTION was called on a host method, so there are no applicable methods. I am getting closer to figuring out the mystery though. I think the SICL method combination was used to compute the effective method on some host generic function, and it calls the SICL METHOD-FUNCTION rather than the host METHOD-FUNCTION.
6:09:13beachBut in a few minutes I have to go out to buy food, so I won't be able to tackle this problem right away.
