yep, the continuation data structure in cmucl (lvar and ctran in sbcl) precisely represents program points

it makes a lot of operations pretty easy which is why functional people like cps style compilers

the names lvar and ctran in sbcl are kinda weird; i wish the name continuation was kept in some capacity

btw karlosz i'm working on moving rtypes to mir now. except i have found some kind of nondtereministic problem in compiling multiple-value-call, so uh, don't hold your breath

it specifically breaks eclector, which makes it impossible to view even the errors. very nice

i can reproduce this horrible problem even if no interpolation happens. i kind of expected it to involve interpolation somehow but i guess not

the compilation is nondeterministic. it always succeeds, but the resulting function either returns nil (correct) or signals an error (incorrect)

it's possible clasp runtime is doing something stupid, yeah, but it's the compilation that's nondeterministic

My main mission today is to go buy food in an hour or so. Then I hope to make some significant progress on register allocation.

once you tackled the difficult task with the food the rest of the day should go easy like a breeze
