9:12:30beachYesterday, I realized that MAKE-METHOD expands to a call to (MAKE-INSTANCE 'STANDARD-METHOD...) but it is done at run time, which is silly. So I fixed that, but now, I must make some special arrangements for compile-time calls to MAKE-INSTANCE, because, during bootstrapping, they need to use a different MAKE-INSTANCE from the one used at run time.
9:13:16beachI haven't decided on the best solution, but I think I'll try to take advantage of the fact that Clostrum is now used, so that a special compilation environment can be allocated.
9:13:59beachI mean "evaluation environment" as opposed to "compilation environment" of course.
9:16:19beachI could do something simpler if I accepted somewhat less idiomatic code (say, calling COMPILE-DISCRIMINATING-FUNCTION rather than COMPILE), but I'll try to keep it idiomatic if I can.
13:47:46beachIs anyone using the SICL bootstrapping procedure at the moment?
13:48:09beachIf not, I think I need to make it temporarily broken for a few days.
