2) we discovered that cffi itself has to do lots of type checks unless safety is set to 0. huge performance gains can be had with that, not that i feel very confortable doing so :/

I was expecting bigger gains with my recent broad-phase spatial partitioning addition, but at least i can have tens of thousands of objects interacting with each other, which is probably acceptable for most games.

think i'll take his advice and add circular timing buffers to all the different subsystems so i can relative times and take averages etc.
