Hey everybody. Newbie to Lisp/ Emacs here. Actually discovered Emacs thanks to Portacle. However, I can't seem to find a good overview of configuring Portacle to recover my previous sessions. M-x desktop-read throws errors, despite having autosaves on.

Mostly asking because I discovered I'd like to use Emacs for much more than Lisp; it's just so handy and intuitive I'll be turning it into my all-in-one writing workhorse once I figure out how to set things up

Win10. I do the vast majority of writing with speech recognition software, which isn't available on *nix systems yet

I see. There's some weird permissions thing on Windows that I remember in the back of my head. I thought I had fixed that, but I guess not or not in all cases?

I don't have time to look into this at the moment (it's late) but if you could file an issue about it, that'd be great https://github.com/portacle/portacle/issues

Also, what should I edit to make Lisp mode a button/ keybind, so I can avoid having to run SBCL in the background while using Portacle for writing?

I do realize it's a headache for me to ask technical questions here, sorry about that

I'd rather that was a separate option, because I'm stuck running (quit) and then killing buffers every time

Mostly because at 4GB of RAM, and Portacle/ Emacs taking almost an entire Gig, I believe it helps system stability

There's no simple way to prevent it from launching SBCL on start. What you can do instead is, well, not close Emacs

I think what I'll do is, I'll just remove everything and do a clean install of Emacs. Might be a better solution than jerry-rigging portacle
