I guess it's easier to look at capacity, instead of accounting for such differences
21:36:29
Shinmera
Yeah but then you don't get those sweet percentages

Also wondering how to compute estimated time left. I kinda doubt I can just do a linear exponentiation to predict accurately.

Umm, cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/capacity just returns the percentage without a percentage sign for me

Shinmera
Err, I mean you don't get the decimal points

Looks like, for me, acpi just reports the value of charge_now / current_now as hours

I mean it doesn't do any other analysis than that. Does acpi report an estimated time left for you?

Battery 0: Discharging, 84%, 02:37:48 remaining

Oh wow, acpiclient hasn't changed at all since 2013. Nice

looks like the power supply class in the kernel does also have the TIME_TO_EMPTY/TIME_TO_FULL fields but they might not be set
22:01:56
Shinmera
same for CAPACITY, by the way :/
22:02:19

Ah, ok. acpi doesn't look at those fields, at least

It just computes the charge_now value based on energy_now and voltage_now, and divides that by current_now. It's almost stupidly simple
