For whatever reason I immediately get furiously annoyed whenever things like that appear in a song

One issue down. For once it was an easy one https://github.com/Shirakumo/lichat-js/commit/4968dad5a066dbd8850d6244911b80d365a531dc

I know there's one problem in the protocol itself related to the reading of malformatted messages, where it is unable to recover if you have something like unmatched parens or quotes.

Baggers
sorry shit didnt work out with this stream. It sucks for you but at least I can say as someone watching I'm looking forward to see you beat it. No rush of course
20:32:41
Shinmera
But in that case it just decides to drop the connection now, so that should n't be the issue at hand

Baggers: I just wish I had more experience in things. Then I would waste less time scrambling around and could focus on actually making something.

mood: and make sure to check in next week as well, as the voting / slaughtering is going to be on then

Cant speak for the others but I watch coding streams for the human aspect too. I'm hanging out with mates who are coding. For me seeing the odd struggle stream is reassuring as it reminds me I'm not a fuckup on the days I'm struggling.

Baggers
my mates spent the last 4 episodes of his virtualboy emulator build stream on one bug, and the folks watching still turn up :)

As for everyweeks.com, I was supposed to do something like my daily drawing but for writing, but that never worked out
21:31:26
Shinmera
It's really annoying that you can never say for certain whether how you remember the past is accurate
21:31:49
Shinmera
So I always end up feeling like I used to do more, used to be more productive and better at improving
21:33:11
Baggers
for me it makes the current work better, but also feel less..free? easy to shit out? not sure

Yeah, I mean there's the usual saying in art for example that you train your eye and your hand. The eye being how well you can judge things to be good and how they should be, and the hand being your ability to execute stuff.
21:34:30
Shinmera
Usually your eye stays a step above your hand, but it's not always the case, and sometimes the difference becomes too big and you end up frustrated.
21:38:29
Baggers
aye. I sympathize a bit as every 2-4 months I tend to have a 2-4 week slump where I'm just feeling shit about how little I've achieved, how long projects are taking & how pretty much everyone I respect is miles ahead and gaining speed. I've started beign able to identify that it's cyclic though so I try to just manage it.. also I think I'm gettig better at noticing the months when I need to consume rather than creat
21:39:50
Shinmera
I don't think there's a cycle for me. Just that things have been looking grimmer than before since about a year or so
21:46:57
Baggers
I dont think so (ofc this is a verdict from across irc so wtf do I know :D) but you have a whole ecosystem of code you've made, thats quite a challenge to get stable, and it sucks when you know every crash is somehow your doing.
21:54:25
Shinmera
I can't really just say "this is good enough" or "I'm improving" or "I'm doing fine" without having something solid to back it up with.
22:03:40
Shinmera
So far you've proven more insightful and understanding than most when I talk about this kinda crap

I just keep finding that folks I respect have their own weird shit I wasnt seeing before they mentioned it. Seems it's shitty but sort of normal. There is a tipping point where it gets too inwards attacking and then it can be worth chatting to a professional, but until then I'm just tyring to find my own system for handling myself
