Shinmera: 1. "the following four functions" is followed by five functions. 2. What is a "shader spec"? 3. The shader pipeline protocol, up until "This takes care of...", is a bit too dense for me. I feel like I'm missing some context or something

Basically what happens is that we need to associate each object in the scene with each pass it's going to be drawn with, so that the pass can compute an effective shader program for the object and add stuff to the source if it needs to.
