12:44:46g_ohey, noob question: sbcl compilation is really slow for me and i don't think it uses all cores; is there a known solution to this?
12:52:49scymtymg_o: is it a particular form that is slow or is it just slow in general? SBCL's compiler is not itself parallelized and stock ASDF (assuming you use that) does not invoke the compiler in a parallel fashion. so using at most one core is expected
12:55:15g_ooh so that's why. can i compile sbcl without sbcl then?
12:56:33scymtymcompiling with a host compiler other SBCL is only going to make things slower
12:56:38scymtymthat said, SBCL's self-build can be parallelized - i thought you were talking about SBCL's COMPILE-FILE and COMPILE
12:57:22g_oyeah sorry i was talking about sbcl build, it just seemed easy to tweak the gnumake var
