23:59:17nijHello folks! To compile sbcl from github source, one needs a common lisp implementation already.. but how does that work?
23:59:35nijIs there a recommended, relative smaller, sbcl binary that can do this job?
0:00:32no-defun-allowedYou could use any Common Lisp implementation, including Clozure, CLISP or ABCL.
0:01:14no-defun-allowedOr sbcl.org has binaries you can download, yes.
0:01:48no-defun-allowedBut it is a Sanely Bootstrappable Common Lisp, so if you have a CL already laying around, that will work too.
0:02:52nijI see. Is there a smallest binary that works?
0:03:24nijTo build an installer script for my OS, I want to have a binary for boostrapping in my repo. Hopefully it's as small as possible.
0:10:57|3b|clicp or ecl can probably be built from whatever C compiler you have, or abcl from a jdk, if that works better, but all 3 would probably build sbcl much more slowly than an sbcl binary
