19:53:20stylewarningWhat would be the thing to look into if I wanted to dynamically generate assembly? I.e., I'd want to do something like (compile nil (construct-some-special-lambda-form)), but which included dynamically generated stuff you'd typically stuff into a VOP?
19:53:55xristosyou can use the sbcl runtime assembler
19:54:35xristossome of the internal APIs have changed
19:55:49stylewarningI'll have to read that article again. Do I get "for free" all of the register selection and the like?
19:56:58xristosi'm not sure, i've only used the direct assembler
20:10:07pkhuongstylewarning: i'd consider a hack for a more dynamic VOP. stuff the codegen template in the info slot or smth
21:57:47karloszstylewarning: is there some particular use case you're missing? a dynamically generated vop sounds pretty gnarly
21:58:21karloszit might be easier to change the compiler to generate what you want depending
23:32:23ebrascaIs there someting done in porting sbcl to ppc64le or ppc64be ?
0:11:28dougk_at some point ppc64 could start up 'cold-sbcl.core' and get a REPL prompt. Getting it to finish building is within reach, but I had to reprioritize my efforts away from that.
