and github requests. as for the package like this, was thinking of removing unnecessary layers of abstraction and going through the sbcl specific facilities for less complex code.

pkhuong: not familiar with the quicklisp contribution rules yet but i assume that there is some sort of "we only accept portable packages" rules. perhaps i'm mistaken, but i was asking because of bsd-sockets being in contrib, which arguably could also be a quicklisp package given there are ffi capabilities in sbcl, ergo the question. what are the sbcl dev criteria or guidelines that I should follow that make

if everyone starts depending on it and it's so foundational that getting it externally is a pain (like asdf or sb-bsd-sockets), it can be made a contrib

is there a way to specify that the flags register changes as a result of a VOP and return it? or should I directly issue a flag reading instruction? for example, vptest doesn't transfer control but modifies flags I'd like to read.
