At least not in the repo i compiled from; at github it is different. So i somehow did not get the latest repo.

is there something else than "git submodule update --init" in order to come up to the latest state?
13:18:53
fittestbits__
Not that I know of. Usually, I do "git pull --ff-only upstream master" in MBuild/Mezzano when I want to move up to the latest version of Mezzano.
13:22:36
fittestbits__
My setup is: I've forked MBuild and Mezzano from froggey on github. Then cloned my fork to my local machine.
13:23:54
fittestbits__
Then, I've marked froggey's versions as upstream on my local version. That's why the git pull ... works.
13:25:46
fittestbits__
Yes, it brings in changed from froggey, which I then push to my fork on github.

afaik MBuild isn't updated frequently, so you'll have to navigate to the Mezzano subfolder (which is a clone of the Mezzano repo) and do a pull there
13:26:39
fittestbits__
Currently I'm working on my master branch, so I do git stash to save my current work before doing the pull.
13:27:04
random-nick
if you directly cloned the original repo instead of making your fork, then the original remote is just called "origin"
13:27:33
fittestbits__
random-nick: - what's the pull command for a non-forked repository? Is it git pull -ff-only origin"?
13:29:47
fittestbits__
The emacs extension I was using went away and I switched to magit, but haven't learned anything about how to use it.
13:43:03
fittestbits__
If you already have a tree on your local machine, go to MBuild/Mezzano and run "git pull --ff-only origin master"
13:43:41
fittestbits__
If you are starting clean (nothing locally) then I think you only need the first two command git clone ... and git submodule ...
13:44:56
sts-q
I am starting clean. The first two commands are not sufficient, because the MBuild is not updated frequently, as RandomNick pointed out.

It does not want to be a full blown source code editor. It does not intend to be good at writing a book or editing very large files.
21:51:09
sts-q
Well, what i try to do is write something, that does what i think an editor that fits my needs should do:
21:52:16
sts-q
edit files with code, tables, lists etc. I think the point is, for me this is working with Mezzano.
