19:02:06froggeygood news, I think I've fixed the arm64 port
19:02:30froggeybut building is still very slow. I'm about half done and it's going to take about another day to finish, assuming there aren't any other issues
19:10:23houselWould it be possible to do more cross-compilation?
19:10:51housel(I have an i.MX8 board I'd like to make work at some point)
19:15:11froggeyI don't think so. almost everything that gets built natively is built via ASDF. is it possible to convince ASDF to cross-compile things?
19:16:29froggeythere are also package related issues in the cross compiler. I don't remember exactly what they are, but they're probably fixable
19:19:10froggeythe arm64 compiler backend is missing a bunch of built in functions, so the generated code is nowhere near as fast. implementing them should give a decent performance boost
19:19:30froggeyand running on real hardware is noticably faster that qemu
19:20:25froggeyso build times can definitely be brought down to more sensible levels
