I have a file which contains (asdf:load-system my-system) and I am executing "sbcl -load file" in the terminal but it doesn't load the system -- what am I doing wrong?
20:55:25
emaczen
I also tried (ql:quickload ...) instead of (asdf:load-system ...)
20:56:25
ebrasca
emaczen: can you paste error log?
20:57:45
ebrasca
|3b|: I start stumpwm with --load.
20:58:52
ebrasca
emaczen: where is you "my-system"?
21:00:19
ebrasca
emaczen: have you add "my-system" to asdf register?
21:00:55
emaczen
ebrasca: Everything works now. I forgot both dashes in front of "load"
21:01:30
emaczen
how do you all read documentation?
21:02:19
emaczen
ebrasca: what if I don't know the name of what I am looking for ?
21:03:11
ebrasca
emaczen: Then I seach it in google.
21:08:28
ebrasca
emaczen: I allways don't remember about it and end finding it in google.
21:09:04

emaczen: Quickdocs.org is under maintainance. Sorry.
21:12:24
ebrasca
emaczen: It show dependencies and what depend on it. I like it.
21:25:51
emaczen
ebrasca: dependencies in terms of what? systems, packages, classes ?
21:27:36

How do I return a closure from a function?
22:51:45
enedil
Let's say I'd like to form a function that is always 2 times smaller that a given one
22:51:50
enedil
(defun tr (f) (lambda (x) (/ (f x) 2)))
22:52:08
enedil
bit it doesn't work. I get message that the return value is not a function
22:52:32
Bike
your problem isn't returning, your problem is that you meant (funcall f x)
22:52:40
Bike
you probably get a warning like "undefined function F"
23:12:54
enedil
Bike: in fact it doesn't help if I use funcall, clisp shows "EVAL: (TR (LAMBDA (X) X)) is not a function name; try using a symbol instead"
23:20:51
sukaeto
enedil: (defun tr (f) (lambda (x) (/ (funcall f x) 2)))
23:20:59
sukaeto
(funcall (tr #'identity) 2)

Bike
you could file an issue on github.

Bike: Unfortunately, it's not possible to post issues there (https://github.com/cffi/cffi)
