I've been using normal quicklisp with ecl without problem. What is this ecl-quicklisp?

I was following https://chriskohlhepp.wordpress.com/advanced-c-lisp/embedding-lisp-in-cplusplus-a-recipe/ which mentioned ecl-quicklisp

I am able to use quicklisp only the first time when I run ecl after compiling... but on subsequent loads it crashes with stack overflow. The first time it compiles and gives some warnings and then I am able to use quicklisp, but after that session I run into stack overflow.

so either you try to load one asdf version on top of another or it is tempered with some "improvements"

I am trying with the gitlab repo. I get https://pastebin.com/tJrM12mn when I try to load ecl-quicklisp.

I don't know what may be the problem. did you try building ecl from develop branch?

all I can say is that I can't reproduce it with this information. make sure you don't have some asdf.asd or anything what asdf would try to pull by itself

I had a quicklisp failure at one point because of symbolic links in the local-projects directory, from a directory to its parent.

I had a some projects under quicklisp. I tried with an empty directory but still the same error.

I tried this with a docker image with my os and was able to get it to work so it has sth to do with my config. I am trying to review that.
