i started to wonder last night, seeing someone using cffi for their C module; why not use ECL to write that ? =)

Eventually, you will find that you need to use a different implementation (either because there's a bug or defect in the current implementation, or because now you want to target a different platform not supported by the current implementation, or because the other implementation has development tools you'd want to use (eg. a better debugger), etc.

i think it was, to use ECL to generate the C, with which to link with cffi from wherever else

my goal: write C code without using C. parenscript for C would be neat. well it is as if C is the lava on the floor, and i dont want to step on it =)

another approach which was (is?) experimental in EQL (ECL embedded in QT) was to access EQL via swank from other implementation
