hello, I use a pane in my application with a ":scroll-bars :vertical" but when I send text to the pane it scrolls to the end. Is it possible to scroll to the top ? I don't know where to look in the spec

jackdaniel: i have this toy application that started to almost crash the X server under certain circumstances. i think this started after the scrolling/viewport changes. are you interested in looking at this?

scymtym: yes, but not before Monday, so if you could report issue on the tracker that would be perfect

jackdaniel: i'm not even sure how to describe it. if i make a self-contained archive and instructions available, would you have a look?

(from the news: I've started writing backend tutorial - I'm using cl-charms as an example because I find it amusing to have McCLIM working in the console, but I'm still a mile behind something for publishing, I have almost complete tutorial for cl-charms though

jackdaniel: i thought of that as well but didn't try it since the crash seemed to be caused by the server allocating more and more memory. i guess one could run xephyr under suitable ulimit

I can only confirm, that forward "escapes" when I try to drag it and memory usage increases rapidly

if you want another fun one, remove the size ratios in the :default layout in application.lisp. at some point, that made the interactor pane slowly scroll backwards all by itself

i'm not sure whether that still happens, though. i kept the ratios anyway because otherwise redisplays cause lots of flickering

ratio problem may be caused by rounding in CL (so that would indicate that we have to use "our own" rounding function)

this problem with escaping drag means, that we have most likely off-by-one error somewhere
