he was a regular contributor and made some non-trivial improvements (and generally took care of many things), so I've decided to ask him if he is interested to take the "position"

jackdaniel
yes, that makes me feel at least a little less guilty when I work on McCLIM for a few weeks without looking at ECL (and vice versa given that things here are also going well)

beach: I'm not sure how much you are interested in how ecl compiler works, but you've exhibited some interest in details in the past -- if you want I may send you my notes when they contains something informative

jackdaniel
more or less, I'm not going to dig into all details -- I want to compile an overview of general machinery

jackdaniel
going through the compiler implementation paid off a little -- I've deduced a bug -- top-level symbols are always ignored even if they are associated with a macro

jackdaniel: are you working on the C parser? (i'm asking since i worked on it a bit and would like to avoid duplicated work)
17:43:27
jackdaniel
no, I still don't understand the dependencies and such, so I wouldn't even know where to start working. either way I'm more interested in using it to "understand" input to ecrepl
