so it is specific to my xorg-server-intel (i.e xorg-server-xephyr doesn't show this problematic behavior)

jackdaniel: Documentation in any X manual lacks examples... Xrender is horribly underdocumented. Which is sad, since it's such a powerful tool.

I have messed with it somewhat, so I probably have at least partial knowledge to assist

So if I take an existing overview, if we can find one, and I translate the examples in it to CLX, would that be useful?

I'll take a look. It's just that I've spent the last couple of weeks at work writing nothing but documents, documentation and presentations. :-)

I'll be happy to start working on the examples first. I'll check the documentation for CLX as well to see if it's something I can easily do.

There is a lot more to say about how xrender works, and most documentation on it uses C. Would it make sense to show a C xredner call and then compare it with how it's done in CLX?

Well, I have personally no interest in claiming any bounties. For someone to help out, I think offering a 100+ would make sense?

I don't think it is a work for two people. are you sure you are not interested? if so, I won't create one

(creating a bounty for someone to help out on this might be worthwile anyway, I'd be happy if someone jumps in before me :-) )

Hello #clim ! I have (another) newbie question. I must not be using FIND-PANE-NAMED the right way because it does not find my pane. I made a simplistic example http://tl.di.fc.ul.pt/s/findpane.lisp . My expectation was the the TEST function would return the pane but it returns nil. What am I missing here ?

You can see an example here: https://github.com/robert-strandh/Compta/blob/master/gui.lisp

Down in the "commands" section of that file, you find examples of the use of FIND-PANE-NAMED.
