Good morning everyone!

sb-sprof flamegraph in mcclim: https://techfak.de/~jmoringe/clamegraph.png
13:09:54
jackdaniel
do you mind if I tweet the link?
13:10:15
scymtym
i has some embarrassing problems
13:10:45
jackdaniel
OK, but looks nice :)
13:10:51
scymtym
see the columns of 1s on the left? otherwise the scroll-bars won't work
13:11:18
jackdaniel
erm, that's probably something I could work on
13:11:26
jackdaniel
could you report issue with a minimal testcase?
13:11:43
scymtym
and i couldn't find a way to clip the function names such that the output-record size wouldn't grow beyond the clipping region
13:12:11
scymtym
well, maybe i'm doing it wrong. i'm not very experienced with mcclim
13:12:32
scymtym
i can make a self-contained file so you can try it
13:12:42
scymtym
it's a very short program anyway
13:13:36
jackdaniel
sounds good, I'm leaving now, but when I'm back I'll take a look
13:24:22
scymtym
jackdaniel: https://techfak.de/~jmoringe/clim-flamechart.lisp
14:57:59
oleo
have a look at *print-right-margin* :text-margin and :margin
14:58:25
oleo
and at :end-of-line-action :wrap
14:59:20
oleo
instead of :allow for growing the buffers horizontally.....
15:05:31
scymtym
oleo: thanks, but passing any of those to the application pane doesn't seem to change anything
15:44:38
jackdaniel
scymtym: what should I require to have sb-prof? or should I rebuild sbcl?
15:45:05
jackdaniel
fwiw my SBCL version is 1.3.20
15:46:40
jackdaniel
(require 'sb-prof) yields nothing
15:48:31
jackdaniel
(require 'sb-sprof) worked
15:54:47
oleo
scymtym: how do you pass it ?
15:55:54
scymtym
jackdaniel: commandline is in first line of the file
15:57:16
jackdaniel
I'm running it from slime anyway, faster development
15:57:31
jackdaniel
I can confirm the issues you have encountered
15:57:41
scymtym
sure, what to do in slime should be obvious from commandline\
15:57:58

16:00:05
scymtym
oleo: i tried something similar, but aren't the pane classes and the whole setup totally different?
16:00:11
oleo
and my *print-righ-margin* is at 110
16:00:39
scymtym
i don't thing *print-righ-margin* plays a role for my problem
16:01:12
oleo
scymtym, that's the class for instantiating instances, if you instantiate an instance and pass along other options those will also take effect
16:02:28
oleo
so something unspecified at instantiating time will be taken from the class, if you pass a new thing onto the instance it will take effect/override the class version
16:02:42
scymtym
oleo: yes, i'm convinced that i successfully passed the options you suggested to the extended stream instance, but they didn't seem to affect the scrolling or output record size problems. sorry if i'm not understanding what you are suggesting
16:03:12
oleo
scymtym, which version of mcclim are you using ?
