lukego, your clim in emacs things looks very nice, but still rather have an emacs-like editing capability in common lisp. Of course this means things like modes for editing other languages, polymode, etc... to, which would be an awful lot of work.

slyrus: yeah. but I've already been waiting over 25 years for an Emacs-killing all-CL environment to materialize so I think spending a few weeks "giving the cell a lick of paint" is justified.

I have written one fairly complete Emacs editor in my life and the basic takeaway for me is, boy, Emacs has a lot of good stuff in it. I also just stopped using Smalltalk partly because it lacks so much Emacs editing stuff despite being basically "Lisp machine squared" in terms of overall goodness.

(I've also made serious attempts to move my Lisp hacking over from Emacs to Hemlock in the past etc and the whole bucket list of rites of passage.)
