int8/byte8, int16/byte16, int32/byte32 will be straightforward (6 cases) - but int64/byte64 may be bignums and will need to be handled specially.

You could use to_object<T> converters - they already do the work of converting C++ types T to Common Lisp types.

Also (and this is a big one) - lets say we decide to implement a 32 bit version of clasp? We have a whole mess of problems like the following.

In that case int32/byte32 need to be handled like int64/byte64 now because Fixnums would be less than 32 bits.

Since I didn't handle this conversion problem properly I don't expect you to handle them.

So feel free to add another "future 32bit conversion of Clasp" problem to the pile that I already started. :-)

I don't think so either. Clasp is for scientific computing and 64bit is the present and the future.

I just always thought it would be easier to implement a 32bit processor in a nanobot than a 64bit processor. (sigh)
