18:36:52drmeisterThat's what quicklisp does - but quicklisp calls asdf.
18:37:01Bikewell yeah, but quicklisp masks a lot of stuff.
18:37:08Bikeare you actually calling asdf:load-system directly?
18:37:27drmeisterI get good verbosity from sbcl using (ql:quickload something :verbose t) and from (asdf:load-system something :verbose t) . but Clasp doesn't print anything.
18:38:14drmeisterI suspect it's something to do with redirecting streams or clasp not listening to :verbose - or a combination of the two.
18:38:55drmeisterI'm organizing a grant proposal while I'm watching clasp slooooowly compile via quicklisp and asking myself for the millionth time ' what the hell is it doing?'
18:39:49drmeisterThe special report that I added that describes llvm time isn't coming up - that's what I really want.
19:48:04Bikedrmeister: figured it out. good news, nothing's horribly broken
19:49:07Bikedrmeister: sbcl binds *compile-verbose* and *compile-print* to t by default. we bind them to nil. asdf doesn't pass :verbose to compile-file and is not involved here at all. if you want more output just set those to t.
19:49:42Bikeif you do it does properly print out all the forms and the llvm time fraction and stuff.
