22:31:40drmeisterA person with the ID Selwyn dropped in to ask a question about exposing C++ libraries and my broken demo for that. I need to put some time into it.
22:32:41drmeisterHe asked that question on IRC at exactly the same time I had an undergraduate CS student in my office who will be working with me this summer and we were talking about exposing scientific libraries within Clasp.
22:50:36cracauerAlways good to see them at the same time so that you can be sure they are not aliases :-)
22:50:59cracauerMy FreeBSD changes seem to work on Linux and OSX. I'll put together a pull request tomorrow.
6:17:12beachI interpret the result in a more general way than the authors.
6:17:44beachThey basically conclude that Haskell is great and the timing for "relational Lisp" is weird and can't be trusted.
6:19:19beachI interpret the result like this: Any project leader who does not take into account the possibility that there might be a huge difference in productivity of different languages (for the project at hand) should be fired. They should especially take into account the savings of a productivity gain vs the cost of training or hiring staff.
6:19:47beachSo I make no conclusion about any specific language, like they do.
